Fred Dexheimer

Fred Dexheimer, M.S. has an enviable pedigree that has ushered him through some
of the NYC’s most esteemed restaurants including, Daniel, Gramercy Tavern and Jean-Georges.
Most recently, he has reigned for the past three years as the Wine and Beverage
director for the highly praised and very successful BLT Restaurant Group. Noted
for the series of celebrated chefs who have contributed to Fred’s viticultural education,
Chef Laurent Tourondel, the LT in BLT, entrusted Fred to express his vision to create
restaurants with great food accompanied by great wine. From BLT’s inception Fred
brought forth a world class wine program where guest satisfaction, innovation and
education were his priority. Fred’s vast knowledge coupled with his “down to earth”
attitude towards life and wine, have made him one of the most sought after wine
educators in his field.
This past March Fred passed the Master Sommelier level of the Court of Master Sommelier
program. This is known as the most respected achievement in the wine and service
industry.
Presently, Fred has stepped down from his perch at BLT to go to work with T. Edward
Wines, an emergent import and distribution company, where he is the Domestic Portfolio,
and Education Director. Fred’s decision to join T. Edward Wines allows him to focus
on the business of wine and become closer to the people who farm and craft top quality
wines. It will be through education this knowledge will be transmitted.
